Feed the ostriches from our shaded deck just opposite the alligator pond. You’ll find camels, ostrich and antelope all in the expansive yard these amazing animals call home. They’re pretty fond of food, so if you stick around a few minutes, we’re pretty sure you’ll get a visit from a variety of animals. It’s free to feed animals in this paddock, but you must purchase the animal food from our admissions office to ensure the animals aren’t being fed anything that will make them sick.
Our friendly Camels love a snack and a pat, but be careful to hold you hand flat as they may get carried away taking the food from your hand. Purchase animal food from the admissions counter on your way into the park.
Enjoy a more intimate experience with the tallest residents of Mogo Wildlife Park. As part of a small group, you will gain access to a private area where you will be able to get even closer to our bachelor group of giraffes, Mtundu, Karn and Twigga. You’ll have a chance to feed them carrots or leafy sticks and learn about this elegant and wonderful species. You’ll even recieve a professional photo of this special encounter. Our private giraffe Encounters are available at 9:30 am on Weekends & School Holidays and requires prior booking.
Looking for the ultimate wildlife experience? Our Primate Island Tour is incredibly fun and slightly adventurous! One of our experienced Zookeepers will take you on a cruise around our primate islands. You’ll have a chance to board Lemur island and sit with our three ring tailed lemurs, Toma, Valentino, and Jeremiah. You’ll get to feed the Lemurs and find out how ridiculously soft their fur is. They love pats and will thankfully take plenty of affection. Back on the boat, you’ll see up close our other islands from the water, giving you a birds eye view of Siamang Gibbons, Black and White Ruffed Lemurs and Tamarins. Don’t miss this chance to meet and observe some of our most curious and friendly primates that call these islands home!
Get to know one of the most underappreciated animals of Africa. Discover how affectionate our Male hyena Cheka is while you are giving him some quality back & belly scratches. This is a rare and unique experience for any animal lover to get close to an apex predator. There are very few hand raised hyenas like Cheka around the world, offering you a highly sort after opportunity to engage with these amazing species. A little about Hyenas. Although the Lion King depicted Hyenas as lowly conniving scavengers, you’ll learn that they’re actually a highly successful hunter with stronger jaws than lions or tigers! Your keeper will expand your knowledge of Hyenas with plenty of amazing facts and of course stories about our very own Hyenas.
Get closer to our African Servals, Nundi & Gundi. These incredible African Cats are like no other! You’ll head into the enclosure with our keeper and Nundi and Gundi will have the choice of playing with you, or on quieter days, you may have to go to them for a pat. Like any cat, Nundi and Gundi may choose to play actively, or opt to laze around. This encounter could last 15 minutes or longer depending on how energetic and engaged our big cats are on the day. Serval Encounters are at 10:30 every day.
Come meet Baru our male Binturong! During this encounter, you will be able to get up close and personal with one of the world’s most fascinating animals from the jungles of Indonesia. You’ll have the options to feed Baru his fruit and interact with him at whatever level he chooses. Come find out why we say our Binturongs are the best-smelling animal in the park!
Our Emperor Tamarin, or Moustached Monkeys as we affectionately call them around the park, are one of our most gentle and sweetest primates in our care. These little monkeys really take their mustache game seriously! They have a beautiful friendly nature and will happily greet you with their unique chirps and whistles as they climb down to your shoulders and enjoy a snack. Our four boys, Rufus, Oli, Javi and Iker are just a little skittish, so we suggest that you’re relaxed, still and quiet to make them feel secure and comfortable. Try not to wear anything too brightly coloured, as this might put them on edge. Our Emperor Tamarin up close encounters usually go around 15- 20 minutes depending on how relaxed and engaged our Tamarins are around you. Book early to avoid disappointment. Why not bring the whole family down to meet our beautiful White Rhino! Dont let Jabari’s 2.5 ton size scare you off – he’s just like a big Labrador and loves your attention. Stand side by side with this prehistoric animal, learn about his gentle and loving nature as you get the opportunity to feed him lunch and give him back and tummy scratches. A bucket list opportunity worth doing! NB. Although you’re up close with Jabari, there will be a timber leaning fence to stop him accidentally stepping or leaning on you too hard.
